Ahead of its premiere today in Venice, a teaser trailer has been released for a new Elon Musk-themed documentary feature from Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney (“Going Clear,” “Taxi to the Dark Side,” “Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room”).
“Musk” is a nearly four-hour film (232 minutes) and the result of a four-year investigative portrait detailing the rise and controversial legacy of the tech billionaire.
The film is said to be the “definitive and unvarnished examination” of Elon Musk, tracing his journey from his roles as CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter to his emergence as a polarising global figure.
Elon Musk’s ex-partner and 28-year-old influencer Ashley St. Clair joined Gibney in a press conference for the film today, revealing that she rejected a $40 million non-disclosure agreement offer from Musk after giving birth to his thirteenth child.
St. Clair participated in the “Musk” film to “set the example for my kids that we should never take being materially comfortable that we’re speaking the truth.”
Jigsaw Productions, Closer Media, Anonymous Content, and Double Agent are all producing the film, which is being unveiled at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival today and is scheduled for a U.S. theatrical release on October 16th before streaming exclusively on HBO Max.
