Two Mystery Actors Also Up For James Bond

Amazon MGM Studios

Two weeks ago, final screen tests took place at Bray Studios in the UK for the role of James Bond in Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming reboot of the franchise.

At the time, there were said to be four contenders: Jack Lowden, Callum Turner, Josh O’Connor, and a potential mysterious fourth person. Previously rumoured Jacob Elordi and Jack O’Connell were ruled out, but the Elordi rumours briefly resurfaced.

In the two weeks since, British tabloids have published articles suggesting Turner and O’Connor have landed the gig, but that mostly seems to be publicity in the press (either approved or fan-driven) rather than concrete information.

Today, THR has added a new wrinkle. The outlet reports that they have heard that there are “now two mystery actors that have tested, not one like initially thought”. They also say the two mystery actors are “notable and established names, above the level of the still-rising likes of Callum Turner and company.”

That potentially opens up the discussion to previously rumoured names of actors in their mid-to-late 30s who’ve been around a while, such as Jonathan Bailey, Dev Patel or Taron Egerton.

But then reporter Justin Kroll added: “One stars in a 2026 Amazon pic and another likes to wear a mask,” which has subsequently seen names like Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Nicholas Galitzine, Robert Pattinson and even Tom Holland mentioned in response.

UPDATE: The two mystery men appear to be Robert Pattinson and Nicholas Hoult. More details by clicking here.
